I am an Enrolled Agent (EA) specializing in tax preparation for individuals and small businesses. Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. EAs are required to adhere to high ethical standards of practice and to complete continuing education each year. They have earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service by passing multiple examinations on individual and business tax returns. Like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), EAs are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent and what types of tax matters they can handle.

I absolutely love working in tax because it’s an opportunity to reflect with clients on what happened that was financially good (or financially challenging) in the past year. It’s an opportunity to provide a little information and help people set financial goals for the current year (….and next year’s tax return). And sometimes, a little timely financial information can really make a big difference for a person.

For these reasons and more, I decided to offer services to help people succeed with annual tax filings, by offering high quality personal tax services and business bookkeeping. I focus on accuracy, providing timely planning sessions for individuals, and sharing financial information that helps you be able to make good decisions.

What I personally love most about this work is bringing all the information together to completion in the annual tax return…But there is a lot of work that happens year-round to make that possible. Individual quarterly reviews are like reviewing goal milestones and monthly bookkeeping reviews are like planning updates with opportunities to realign for the future.

The tax return is the finish in the annual financial cycle. It is the completion of the long-term project. Each step in the process is an important opportunity for reflection and learning!
